Highland - Palestine supports the Boycott - Divestment - Sanctions movement
The BDS movement is a grassroots Palestinian civil society movement that calls upon international civil society organizations and people of conscience all over the world to impose broad boycotts/sanctions, and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era. It is a nonviolent attempt to exert pressure by ordinary citizens everywhere.
There are Israeli products in many everyday settings, from supermarkets, to DIY stores, to pharmaceuticals, and many more.
Highland Palestine recommends using the following resources to help identify products that might be part of the boycott call:
The Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability and the Palestine Museum of Natural History are based at Bethlehem University: https://www.palestinenature.org
The Institute engages in a wide range of environmental, social, and educational projects, advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people and empowering them to address biodiversity loss through community action.
In November 2024, Highland - Palestine hosted the Land, Nature, Justice tour of the Highlands by Professor Mazin Qumsiyeh.
